By March 2007, the new Regiment, originally of three regular battalions and the TA component, were reorganise to form the Regular 1st and 2nd Battalions and a Volunteer 4th Battalion.  As part of this merger The Band of The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment was formed from which its members came from the The North West Infantry (TA) (KINGS) Band.
